Perhaps even. More revealing is the inability to fix the damn thing. Maybe some of those technical people who were fired should have been kept. You can’t just yell fix it louder at the contractor and get results which is all the hipos seem capable of doing.
But they had a whole team from global projects managing the contractor! And all much higher ranked than the technical non-essential workers you speak of.
How’s this different from any other GP project?
You all are right, no other company outsources that type of work. It should be in house. I mean, who cares if we are 2x as expensive per bbl?
They were staffed up and had just as many expats and business trips. What were they all doing?
Shocking... who could’ve thought that a facility built outside of company GPs and not having the rigors of a proper design team and SME engagement would have problems.
