Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Spectacular day for inclusion and diversity at ExxonMobil

In light of Juneteenth being deemed a federal holiday, one of our great leaders JJ found it fittinh to send out an email saying that Exxon is so happy and proud about Juneteeth being commemorated that we’re not going to observe it but we should instead self reflect on it. I understand it’s on a Saturday this year but it won’t be forever, so why not make the move now? Just another example of exile having clear and “free” ways to improve morale while simultaneously refusing to do some.

It was the revealed that Exxon made a 13,750 pac donation to support anti-trans legislation and politicians, a great addition to pride month I might add.

Juneteenth celebrations in Oakland, California; Aurora, Colorado; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Clover, South Carolina; and Flint, Michigan, were marred by shootings and death.

We so need more holidays like this, NOT!

ExxonMobil and unfortunately many of its brainwashed employees are all about pretending. Time to let go of nonsense.

@agq The right move would be to stop pandering to racist fools like you.

Management didn’t send out an email on my birthday, anniversary, New Years Day, Labor Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and the day commemorating my Little League Championship.......you would think they would care. I just don’t get it.

So what did you do today to celebrate the holiday? Nothing? Did you not have the day off? Sounds like you just want to be paid for another day of not working.

If ExxonMobil would focus more more on Diversity and inclusion it would make ExxonMobil a more: profitable company, a better place to work, their will be no more terminations, Management will be so kind and helpful to all its employees, the 401k match will return, the COLA will return, raises and promotions for everyone. Grow up people.

If you want to celebrate. use your floating holiday. That is what it is for. I use mine for my birthday.

There’s a difference between being surprised and perpetually disappointed.

XOM doesn’t observe all federal holidays, so why should this surprise you? It was made a federal holiday 2 days before it’s first observance, management isn’t going to jump through their a-s to give you a day off when we also don’t observe long established federal holidays, like Dr. Martin Luther King day, Columbus Day, Presidents’ Day, or Veterans’ Day.

If you feel that strongly about it, you have 2 floating holidays to use, otherwise don’t feign outrage.

Yes, our morally and financially bankrupt company could do better with D&I, but a day off isn’t the way to accomplish it. How much thought did you give to fallen service members less than a month ago when we observed Memorial Day?

The right move would be to start recruiting from HBCU’s the same way we recruit from TAMU. Otherwise, we will continue to recruit and promote the same white males we have for decades.

No company is going to give you another paid day off. Companies that are giving people the day off for this “holiday” are just substituting it for another holiday like Good Friday, Thanksgiving, or Christmas so stop your whining in the name of “diversity”. Even better, you should quit and tell Exxon you are quitting because it is not a holiday at Exxon. See if anyone at Exxon begs you to stay.

Typical exxon doublespeak.
As with everything else at xom, pretending to do is more important than doing.
Pretending to care, pretending to listen, pretending to solve, pretending to be a good actor, pretending to lead.
True to form.
