HR people now that jobs are posted how are you feeling? How do you see your future career in HR at Chevron progressing? I’ve been here just a few years but have witnessed the increasing lack of role mobility and chance for growth. The latest reduction of roles seems to have resulted in the complete down grade of PSGs or outright removal of lower PSGs so where does that leave people who had hope to grow with the company? I’m curious to hear from people who actually made advancements in their career prior to the recent restructuring. in my opinion the potential for career growth has just become even more painfully stagnant in HR and it seems that unless you’re maybe a PSG 23 and up, you might as well get out now and try to get more valuable experience and skills somewhere else.

Are promotions ever fair here
Does anyone actually get promoted for their work, or is it always about who you know?
What to do with snake managers?
My manager has been "dangling the carrot" at me ever since I joined.
Asking me to burn midnight oil and be an expert, which I have done so and received so much appreciation from individual team members.
Yet no recognition from my manager, no rewards, no promotion chat, no bonus or compensation.
On top of all that, I can clearly see I am not been given opportunities to present, I am doing all the hard work and this snake of a manager always chooses someone else to present the work I DID, that is because that person is in the same region as my manager.
Is this a normal thing at fidelity??? I thought this used to be a place where success is being celebrated, recognized.
Or is it just another toxic tactic for pushing colocation agenda????

Tired of getting denied for trainings
They always have "no budget"
No one goes to conferences, no one does anything to really push their career.
This company is just full of excuses for one thing another.
Im tired and done stagnating my career here.
Im getting off the titanic; everyone else should too but lets be honest if you are here for more than 5 years, you are already at the dead end of your career and everyone knows it

Having skills makes a huge difference
Getting laid off is stressful no matter what, but there are still solid opportunities if you know your stuff. I found a new role even when people said the market was tough. It is nerve-wracking at first, but landing a good position makes it all feel worth it.

ExxonMobil sc--ws loyal employees
The company when hired 17 years ago promised a long-term career. I performed really well initially and began moving to different jobs every 1-2 years. I always felt as soon as I really understood and could add value they rotated me. Management told me I’m gaining exposure to all aspects of the business to be a future leader.
Now the company reduced my potential And I’m sure they want to replace me with a low cost employee in India.
I’ve started looking elsewhere but I’m not qualified because I’m a generalist and master of nothing. It’s like the 15 years of dedicated service were for nothing. My options are to stay knowing I have limited upside or take a pay cut and start all over.
Team culture and leadership problems
Team culture is not good whatsoever and leadership is not involved at all, they say they are but they are not, and at the same time opportunities are hard to come by which is hurting everybody. This has been going on for a long time and nothing is changing which people keep pointing out but it just keeps getting worse. Leadership says they care but they don’t and the whole place is going nowhere because of it.
Greetings everyone!
I'm excited to have started my career in the Oil & Gas industry with the Production Engineering & Optimization team at ExxonMobil.
I'm immensely grateful to my parents, professors, and friends for their constant support that made this possible.
Eager to learn, grow, and make meaningful contributions to the energy industry.
