Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Having skills makes a huge difference

Getting laid off is stressful no matter what, but there are still solid opportunities if you know your stuff. I found a new role even when people said the market was tough. It is nerve-wracking at first, but landing a good position makes it all feel worth it.

Congrats @op! Here’s to hoping my skills can translate outside the firm too. Getting laid off as the only income in the house with a family is definitely scary. My mantra was to be a student of the job, learn everything you can and you’ll be solid and for almost 10 years that was the case until last week. Bottom line- no matter how “valuable” I tried to make myself and all the hours and weekends I spent working and missing family time it turns out I was just as expendable as the next guy.

Laughing, as who would downvote OP? A loser with a loser mentality. A paycheck for doing diddlysquat. Loser.

Wrong board. People at Fiserv don't care for hard skills and actually getting work done.
