HR people now that jobs are posted how are you feeling? How do you see your future career in HR at Chevron progressing? I’ve been here just a few years but have witnessed the increasing lack of role mobility and chance for growth. The latest reduction of roles seems to have resulted in the complete down grade of PSGs or outright removal of lower PSGs so where does that leave people who had hope to grow with the company? I’m curious to hear from people who actually made advancements in their career prior to the recent restructuring. in my opinion the potential for career growth has just become even more painfully stagnant in HR and it seems that unless you’re maybe a PSG 23 and up, you might as well get out now and try to get more valuable experience and skills somewhere else.

HR is an actual joke
Those outside of the US are totally sc--wed! The lowering of PSGs is a joke. We have seen some US individuals do well with promotions in the PSG 26+ round, but I suspect those internationally in the PSG 25 and below won't be treated so favourably, but then again what's new! Out of sight out of mind! Those internationally have so much knowledge and deal with much more complexity but are never compensated on the same level as those in the US!
I had to submit a request through the HR service center. 1st request was handled overseas and the ticket was closed successful. But not fixed. 2 nd ticket was worked in the USA and was solved quickly and accurately. I agree the support in the future will be less efficient.
I already know that I’m losing my job but the consolation is that we’ll also get rid of that arrogant wench Bah_ M-
@OP - For the US in particular, I knew to expect the cuts to be drastic, but it didn't sink in until I had access to the selection tool, and could see for myself how few jobs were available in my PSG range, versus the employees vying for them. So yeah, I think your assessment is spot on for anyone in HR in the US; mobility and career growth will be very limited, particularly if you're a HRBP or HR Manager. I sincerely wish everyone the best as we endure the last few weeks of this horrific waiting game.
@c8 just wait til they don’t get paid properly.
@ay you’ll wish you had an AI chatbot the first time you need something from HR in Manila. Can’t wait to see you HR haters when you see what your alternatives are after 10/1. Good luck.
Just start an HR consulting/speaking service. All the failed HR managers do this using Chevrons name backing their so called credibility.
HR has a future. Who knew…
I think what’s unique about HR. They are losing 70% of their workforce and some groups are 95% so be kind in your comments. I’m currently fighting for rules that I do not see myself being successful at because I have no experience in them, but we’ll see what happens.
Theres no need for HR. They can be replaced with an AI chatbot that is programmed to sc--w over the employees.
This is unique to HR? lol read the room. Everyone is in the same boat.
You are correct. There is not much of a future in HR for the majority in the US at most PSG levels. Taking EOI is the smartest thing you can do for yourself to start over in an industry that values it’s HR employees. Best of luck to you.
