Thank you MRO for giving me everything I have. Just thought this site needed one positive thread. Go!

Whats the next step in the world of unconventionals?
Shouldn't we unload one more thing in 2016
For a tax and remodeling standpoint should we sell one more thing before the first? Lowering our debt for next year would defend against interest rates and give us the ability to pick up acreage and grab rigs as prices recover. Do it Lee you can... — read more

December
Rumor is something big is in the works for December. Is it a divestment or acquisition?
Law announcement
One of the very high ups of the law department is leaving the same way lance and JR left. Seems like this place is a revolving door. Funny they literally have revolving doors at Marathon.
Morale Questions
What percentage of the staff is actively looking for a new job outside? How likely those prospects? When is the best logical exit date? I am weighing toss out my fishing line and advice would be appreciated.
Layoffs?
A few layoffs took place this week. One and done? Or are more layoffs coming?
Quiet lately...
It's been quiet on this board lately, that seems odd. Guess all the HR blabbermouths quit.
MRO = super chickens
Research W.M. Muir's chicken experiments published in 2013. These experiments prove exactly what is wrong with the MRO culture. Let's go lay some eggs the more productive way!

What's the next asset sale?
And when will it take place?
So when is there next blood letting? Fall, Spring or both?
Given the EF failure and arrival of the Martin Apocalypse do the holy ones wait till Spring or, do they sharpen the axe and start the bloodbath before end of 4th quarter? If it were me, I would cut more now to drop expenses and make the board think... — read more

No TAP For JR and Lance
So I just read the latest 8-k. I guess poor JR and Lance didn't qualify for TAP cuz there jobs didn't get eliminated so they have to make do with the same sweet nothing other folks get when they get run off. Hahaha joking! Turns out JR got away with... — read more

Marathon Jobs
I see there are a few jobs posted on the Marathon Oil website. I assume that most people on this site are Marathon employees. I see some negative comments, especially about HR. Are things really that bad? Would anyone recommend pursuing opportunities... — read more
Permian
Websites are reporting MRO is bidding on roughly 42,000 acres in west Texas. How could MRO possibly afford a $2billion dollar acquisition?
Questions about our strategic direction
The first bullet in Lee's response to the findings of the employee survey noted widespread questioning of the company strategy. Relying on high cost resource plays while selling cash generating assets seems counter intuitive. Without any exploration... — read more
Layoffs?
Heard of a facilities engineer that was let go under the TAP last week in Dickinson. Are others being plucked one by one at other sites, or was this a one-off event?
Who quit this week?
I have not heard any names this week and I feel left out. To prime the pump, there are still jobs at Newfield and EOG. I even imagine Apache is going to be looking for a couple of good folks.
Selling off EF?
I heard a rumor Marathon selling its EF assets, any truth?
Sept 7 message from Lee listed 4 bullet points summarizing employee concerns.
Two of those points are failures 100% related senior HR management. If there were a functioning performance management system, senior HR would be fired. If they survive then it is proof that c---roaches will take over the earth starting with this... — read more
Employee survey
"Your frustration with some aspects of performance management came through loud and clear." Some aspects? Lee and BJ refuse to get the message that this process is broken, never should have been implemented, and should be trashed asap. Next up: BS HR... — read more
Future of the Eagle Ford?
What are everyone's thoughts about the EF? Will we sale it or keep it? Is there any future in the EF?
HR Needs a salary adjustment.
In the Last two years the staff count has dropped by 50% due to asset sales and staff reductions. Therefore it would seem appropriate that the head of HR should have had a significant salary adjustment. Hopefully someone in a position influence will... — read more
Cut the crap, just come to my office already!!
We're still trying to figure out what's going on in HR central. I can vaguely remember the poor attendance at the last event over breakfast bikes and smoothie shots. Maybe if we get some more interaction with our HR reps and higher ups, we would be... — read more

Thanks for a good laugh. We needed it.
Lee proving both his incompetence and arrogance in a single stoke of the pen.
We all must realize the path forward does not lead to a bright future so will Lee finally give up and sell the remains to a suitor? That would be the only plan B to hold on for unless you think the board has any clue about Lee's complete disconnect?... — read more
Lance and JR are out.
What does this mean for the company? Did they really leave on their own? So many people are leaving, what's the deal?
Marathon = Titanic?
Heard all the folks jumping from the sinking ship of Marathon caused HR to panic today... Is that true?
The facts they didn't mention in the earnings call....
Marathon has continued to go downhill since I have began working here. They continue to claim they will work on career development moves for individuals but never seem to follow through on those promises. Lance claimed in the 2nd quarter conference... — read more
Earnings Release - Another huge loss
So, we strengthen the balance sheet with the sale of Wyoming and then blow through the cash from the sale purchasing SCOOP acreage (w/ only 50 producing wells), all with WTI heading south to $39 again. Plus EF wells are declining steeply. Not sure... — read more
Upcoming Layoffs at Marathon
Why hasn't Marathon done an effective job at shedding the enormous amount of people who are wandering the halls of the company with no specific roles and not enough to do. It seems ineffective to say the least during these difficult times to have... — read more
Termination Allowance Package amended July 18, 2016-Reduced again
The TAP has been reduced once again. It's posted online.
How long does Lee stick around before we can be rid of him?
He has milked the company for a good $20-30 million. The results are weak. The next quarter should be a good moment for the board to stand up like adults and send this turd down the bowl before the stink gets worse and can't be removed. On the job... — read more
Does this MRO-UHC lawsuit mean we can fire the VP HR?
Just making suggestions that will improve the bottom line. Hiring someone who knows what they are doing is usually better than hiring someone that fakes what they know. Even if they are younger and run Marathons and laugh at the appropriate moment.
Employees not allowed to buy stock...
Anybody know what the deal is with this? We getting bought out or merging or planning a big acquisition ourselves?
