Thread regarding Marathon Oil Corp. layoffs

So when is there next blood letting? Fall, Spring or both?

Given the EF failure and arrival of the Martin Apocalypse do the holy ones wait till Spring or, do they sharpen the axe and start the bloodbath before end of 4th quarter? If it were me, I would cut more now to drop expenses and make the board think you only need a skeleton crew because you are a great leader.

How is the mood Ladies and Germs?

Whats wrong with the EF? Just read the articles out there.. one of the analyst already pointed it out... Marathon just needs to admit it during a earnings call..

A RIF is a Reduction In Force. The 'Force' meaning employees, so a RIF is the same as layoff.

The TAP hasn't changed this year except for folks in the U.K.

It looks like the TAP provisions were just changed in July of this year, so the preliminaries are out of the way.

One of the posts in response to this mentions a severance package webpage. To what is the post's author referring?

What will the sale be? How many will be taken with the RIF?

Next significant asset sale will start the end of year RIF. Keep an eye on the severance package webpage for an unannounced change. This will occur just before the sale and the RIF will follow soon after.

Thank the Saudi's and Adam Smith.

Isn't the EF running pretty lean as it is?

There's something badly wrong in the EF but it's being kept real quiet. Bad enough that the EF bosses up and quit when they find out about it.

What is wrong with the EF? They were still talking it up in the meeting earlier in the week. Is it confirmed that layoffs will happen in the EF?

It would be better to start the new year with the team needed, right BJ?
