Marathon has continued to go downhill since I have began working here. They continue to claim they will work on career development moves for individuals but never seem to follow through on those promises. Lance claimed in the 2nd quarter conference call that they have been improving young people in their career, but I've just seen them hiding employees in different roles to justify them being there still. The culture at this company is based on a "faking it till you make it" mentality, throwing people under the bus to get ahead and creating processes that make simple tasks 5x longer. When you have training on what our culture is...you've clearly lost your way. Management doesn't have a clue what's truly happening at the lower levels and doesn't seem to care much either. In the past week approximately 5 people in the Eagleford have left the company....this seems to be a reoccurring trend in that asset.

Look at the age of execs. Sorta like the political scene. Same ole. Young folk need to worry. You will get more experience and climb the ladder by changing companies every 4 or 5 years. Take action of your careers.
And no one mentioned blue jeans at work or HR!
Young people?.. most people left are mid-career.. their development is to stay where they are already.. haha
