Thread regarding Marathon Oil Corp. layoffs

Lee proving both his incompetence and arrogance in a single stoke of the pen.

We all must realize the path forward does not lead to a bright future so will Lee finally give up and sell the remains to a suitor? That would be the only plan B to hold on for unless you think the board has any clue about Lee's complete disconnect?

Good Luck to Alll

There is no hatred for foreigners. It makes senses in some cases to hire consultants outside of the US in the case of an engineering firm or other technical consultants with a unique expertise. But there is nothing so unique in the HR function that requires bringing in HR consultants from overseas and incur the additional cost. No one hates anyone and it's not a matter of racism. I would hardly call Canadians or Brits the target of racism. But it is amazing a company as tiny as Marathin has so many expats in Houston in key positions. How much onshore US experience do these individuals have versus the key management in our peer group companies? Go outside and hire expertise in onshore US unconventionals. What we are doing is not working so well. Maybe MCAT will prove to be a success where we have an experienced leadership team.

Some of these posts are true, some are funny but what does being Canadian have to do with not being qualified to be a HR person? And why so much hatred on foreigners in one of the other threads? Would you really speak this way in real life? I want to have opportunities to work overseas (with or without Marathon) so what's wrong with having foreigners in America? Many of these people work hard, probably because don't want to lose their jobs or sponsorship and the privilege to work in America. So just stop being ignorant and stick to real issues.

There are many 30 year employees left who created their own bad reputation and are s---ing the life out of anything left of a decent company. Most of the great ones took the retirement package, the very few great ones that are left struggle with the company that remains.

Marathon has a terrible reputation especially after how they handled 30 year employees and treated Lance who is highly respected in the industry. Who would want to work here if they have any other alternative.?

Could they combine CFO and VP HR into one package? Then the coming sh-- storm would be way more entertaining and be performed in jeans.

Lance and JR let us all know where you land so we don't make the mistake of sending our resumes to another sinking ship.

Because she's one of the people championing the idea that being able to wear blue jeans to work is more important than a steady paycheck or job security.

Why does everyone call Deanna Blue Jeans?

Lee Tillman and Blue Jeans took down a 100 year plus company in a matter of 3 years.

Look, there is no plan B. No one in their right mind is going to buy this pile of s*** as an entity when they can pick off the assets at fire sale prices without all the baggage.
