Can't remember the people on Kurdistan team, but they were really good. The head guy got on really well with the government & they put down wells without hiccups and in record time. Most of them get laid off or sent to other projects when they finished their drilling program, however. Too bad, as that team was a damned site better than the other teams in Marathon, IMHO, especially all the seat warmers in the home office (unfortunately that would include me, though I very humbly note that I am one of the good ones!)

They will just continue to take up space in the tower while the people working them get paid ridiculous amounts of money as they are average grade 14 or above.

Talk about a place where cuts need to happen.

I gather you are talking about those trash blocks to the south with those "so called" discoveries.. I can't see MRO walking away from those OBO fields.

They relinquished our block last year. It has not been publicized however.

problem is even if you find someone to sell to.. The Kurd's ain't going to approve of any company that isn't a mid-major or larger to be part of the partnership.. Those weenie companies like TAQA don't know jack technically..

In answer to your question, though, MRO has been trying to unload Kurdistan since 2012, when they sold down to either a French or Spanish company. But, there are no buyers, as Marathon just keeps having to funnel cash to Ross Perot's company (did Lee actually believe he could out fox ol' Ross?) and TAQA. No one wants to buy more not capital intensive projects now. I doubt they could give these blocks away.
