Do you have to come back after parental leave

I cannot find anywhere that says you have to return to work for a certain amount of time after parental bonding leave in order to keep the pay. Can anyone confirm this? US

@cv sorry, that’s more so what I meant. Come back and give notice.

Why would you not come back, stay on for a month and give your two week notice

There’s nothing in our policy that requires someone to return for a set period after parental bonding leave, and that’s intentional — it’s a fair and generous benefit. Legally, in the U.S., most paid parental leave programs don’t have a clawback unless the employer explicitly writes one into their policy.

The only nuance people sometimes miss is the practical side. When someone leaves immediately after taking paid bonding leave, it can create real strain on the team and make leadership more cautious about approving backfills quickly. That’s not a legal requirement, just an operational reality.
