How are things there?

Laid off after eight years

I made peace with the fact that being good at what you do and being dedicated won’t help you keep your job. I realized years ago that a highly skilled veteran can be let go while someone younger and cheaper stays. So, while I did my job well, I made... — read more

Realistically how attainable are jobs for those left in transition roles?

How's everybody doing?

This week has already been a lot, and it’s only Tuesday. Make sure to take care of yourselves, folks. I know we’re all stressing and worrying, but you’ll be no help to your family if you worry yourself into an early grave. Just remember to go easy on... — read more

Promotions during Layoffs

I was fortunate to land a role one PSG above my current level this layoff cycle. Should I expected a PSG bump next year after EOY reviews or is it possible to get the bump before then? Curious how this has been handled in the past.

Meeting Invite

Got my invite with the selection rep and HR... That means I'm toast, correct?

Networking and relationships is a joke

Networking often feels like a farce. If you’re too visible or make too much noise with your initiatives, it can backfire. It just proves that corporations behave like people—fickle, inconsistent, and driven by ever-changing, often contradictory... — read more

What would you do different?

As we’re reflecting on our time here and looking toward the future, left standing or chosen, I find myself wondering what I would do differently. What I would tell my younger self on my first day at Chevron, knowing what I know now. For me, it’s... — read more

Texas WARN notice update

If the WARN act requires businesses to provide notice 60 days in advance of plant closures or mass layoffs, why haven’t we seen one for Houston. With the official announcements coming out today and Chevron mentioning July 14th likely being the last... — read more

10 or so things I hate about you

I hate the way the HR consultants talk to me, And the way our teams have been cut. I hate the way you drove our business, I hate it when you stare at other operators with envy, sad that Hess was a mistake I hate your big Permian mission-a-million... — read more

CSOC feedback tool

What on earth has happened to the anonymous feedback tool? I used to love that for blasting people, at all levels (especially below me!) in compleat anonimity. Thanks advance

What's taking so long?

The lack of any notification, or even communication by the Job Owners / Selection reps is absolute agony. However, it doesn't seem that they care. Sadly, I've come to expect this from CVX during this re-org. The callous disregard for the... — read more

How Many EOI'ed?

I hear many wild rumors that in the shale and tight space, many people EOI'ed. Is this true? Do we have a vacuum to fill because a lot of people chose not to continue with the reorg?

Leadership Failures

I can't help but think that our leadership is an epic failure. This company pays hugh salaries to supposedly smart, educated people, yet pay millions to a consulting company to structure our organization. Does that mean our leadership can't... — read more

Who’s been notified? How are you notified? Is it the result you wanted? Wishing all the best and know we’ll all come out ok no matter what happens. More to us than work.

JUDGEMENT WEEK

Layoffs are hard on everyone, even for those who get to keep their jobs. Its hard watching colleagues get let go, workplace dynamics is about to change, its all very overwhelming. None of us could have controlled what is about to happen, its just the... — read more

I'm as prepared as I'll ever be

Let's get this over with! And then we can hopefully move on and focus on work once again. Nobody can convince me that the wait hasn't affected productivity companywide significantly.

Win Employees Back?

Will ELT try to win back the employees that are still left after this disaster? Productivity, safety and morale are all in the dumpster due to ELT's actions. What will they do of anything to build back trust and any kind of care for the company?

Thanks & Good luck

Thanks everyone for the last few months of rumors, humor, trolling, and distraction. I don’t think I would have been sane without venting on here (sure wasn’t going to call the Chevron narc line for help). Good luck tomorrow. I hope everyone... — read more

This is nuts

Literally the worst planned weekend ne of these I’ve been a part of.

Green Badges have more insight than Blue Badges

Why is management openly telling green badge employees what is fixing to happen to blue badge employees without telling the blue badges themselves?? It is fu--ing bull sh-t that consultants are more in-the-know than we blue badges are!
