Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Things at Chevron feel off lately

Most people I talk to are nervous about more cuts coming and complain about the shift in culture. It almost feels like they’re trying to get people to quit. Leadership says the right things, but it’s clear the heavy lifting is left to the front line. You can tell people are tired.

I wonder if Trump, who is trying to keep everything in the US is going to have a problem with Chevron sending all the jobs out of the country

The ELT does not want us to quit, the ELT wants us to document our jobs so they can transfer our work to India.
Our team was told last week, there are 12 new Indians that will be traveling to the USA in the next couple of months to learn our jobs.
Our team survived the phase 1 cuts without losing a position.
I conclude we will be stripped of our knowledge and laid off by the end of 2026.
The rest of the USA workers will probably experience similar treatment but they may not know yet.
My understanding is an India in the Engine makes approximately 25% of USA wages. The majority of employees will be replaced in the next few years.

If management has made to the decision to ride the decline curve down, then they need to start cutting costs, i.e. jobs, as soon as possible in order to maintain the dividend, and therefore stock price. Unless Chevron can start finding reserves, they are on the elevator going down.

Things are definitely off. Now that Hess is in the mix there will most likely be more positions cut if the employee is not in the preferred geographical area. Many of us have put our best food forward in our jobs for many years. They could have made organization changes with a bit more transparency and class. The next round will be more brutal than the last. Might as well EOI and find a better culture for next job. MW clearly doesn’t want most of us anymore. He has made this crystal clear.
