Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Yet Another Incident

Speedy recovery to the injured parties. Wonder if they will activate the accountability model yet.

How does choosing to layoff a bunch of bureaucrats in Houston somehow make the field less safe?

There's danger to boiling crude, drilling wells, or transporting pipe. We can empower our field staff to make the right decisions. However, a pretty Powerpoint from a person who's never actually been out to the field, isn't the way to do so.

This is absolutely unacceptable.

Whatever happened to zero is attainable?

@OP wasn’t it MN that said in a recent town hall “I’m built for accountability?” So much awkwardness and irony built into that statement, coming out of that man’s mouth. It starts (or doesn’t start, as it were) from the top. Very sad for these folks getting injured and even more sad at this continued pattern with our company. I hope they have a speedy recovery.

“We told you not to have incidents during this layoff. Clearly you weren’t listening. We have no choice but to have even more layoffs in 2026; Project Atonement. Expect to hear more in your next town hall from your Leaders about how excited they are to keep sending your jobs to low cost geographies.”
