Skills gap

I am interested in experiences of those who, after spending many years here, tried to find work elsewhere in the retail industry. Did you have a problem with stale and outdated skills and how did you overcome it?

Stock $2.31 per share and falling!

"The stock market already has voted on Bed Bath & Beyond’s future. It is a penny stock. It recently traded at $2.51, down from a 52-week high of $30.06. Most of that crash started in August when its financial reports turned ugly. After that, Bed Bath... — read more

Newbies don't let themselves be squeezed

My coworkers have many complaints about the work ethics of most newbies. But should they really be blamed for not allowing themselves to be squeezed like we are? I don't think they should be.

Always keep detailed notes

I am no longer part of this company but, after a great disappointment, I can give advice to those who are still here so that they do not make the same mistake as I did: keep detailed notes of everything that happens to you here, because it may be... — read more

Being happy about Bed Bath & Beyond failing is wrong

I know I said this before but I think it bears repeating. Being happy about Bed Bath & Beyond failing and cheering it on is wrong on so many levels. I can understand that you want to "stick it" to the leadership by supporting the company's downfall... — read more

You care too much about the company

If this company doesn't take care of us, I don't understand why we should take care of the company. I've been indifferent to everything that happens here lately and I'm trying to find a new job. So should everyone. What do we get from worrying what... — read more

This makes me sad

Watching a company die is sad in so many ways. There's the wasted potential, the suffering it causes to people who are losing their jobs, and the greed that destroys everything. Bed Bath and Beyond was once a great place to work. Seeing it in a state... — read more

Company's poor performance

Inflation certainly has a big impact, but c'mon, isn't it high time the leadership admits that they are primarily to blame for the company's poor performance?

2023

There has to be a bankruptcy announcement coming right after the new year. There is no way vendors are getting paid after another abysmal quarter/holiday season. I bet 1/2/23.

BBBY

Looks like a new low tomorrow

Negative comps

Wonder how many December days we can afford to be under -40 comps?

Why didn't these towns ever have a BB&B store??

I know corporations cannot necessarily come and open a store in every town. There is money and resources they have to utilize properly. But I am wondering, Why didn't they ever open stores in La Crosse, Eau Claire, and Menomonee Falls in Wisconsin... — read more

Close all the stores!

Just do it. Get it over with. Put us out of our misery. I realized I've been hoping to find my store on the list of closing locations. I've gone from fearing it to praying for it. Not closing all the stores is just delaying the inevitable. Right now... — read more

Hard to Believe

It baffles me that the people at the helm of this company drove it into such a deep ditch. There was a time when we were so good! There would be a full parking lot on a Tuesday afternoon and every register going. And weekends were crazy. But we had... — read more

It's surprising that the situation is not even worse

Vast majority of store managers have been in their positions 6 months to maybe 2 years at most since the company decided to run off most of the ones that knew what the heck they were doing ( along with all assistant mgrs). Now you are left with... — read more

In how many departments do you work?

I worked in almost all departments yesterday. They just move people around and it is not normal for one employee to be under so much pressure and stress. I wished I had never come here. Of course I will quit as soon as possible.

Final severance check

Is anyone else’s last severance check less than half of what it’s been the past 4 checks? Mine is a little more than half of what I’ve been getting.

No way to get the job done

Perhaps the manager could try to convince me that it is possible to do all the work that is expected from the employees, but I have enough experience to know that there is no way to do it all. I feel sorry for those who can't find a new job and for... — read more
