Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

After seeing closure list, I am wondering, Where are the most solid, profitable BB&B stores??

Why are the La Habra, San Jose (Almaden), Valencia, California, Aventura, Florida, Schaumburg, Illinois, Ann Arbor, Michigan, Albany and Staten Island, New York stores closing, knowing how popular those markets are for retailers?? I would think some of these would be the last to close in the chain. Where are the most popular and profitable stores that are most likely to outlast most of the stores?? I am guessing the ones they have remodeled. Will the last Bed Bath and Beyond stores be in Bend, Oregon, Medford, Oregon, Newburgh, New York, Ramsey, New Jersey, Miami, Florida, Orlando, Florida, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Greensboro, North Carolina, El Paso, Texas, Pasadena, California, Pleasant Hill, California, Modesto, California, Eureka, California, Roseville, California, Aiea, Hawaii, New York City, New York, Frederick, Maryland, and Tukwila, Washington. Or will it be totally different??

List isn’t complete. My store is in liquidation and isn’t included on that list.
Interesting (or not) that corporate hasn’t published an official list.
Just another indication of the chaos at corporate.

There is no need to cater to University crowd if you are not going to do pick and ship for them. There are more than a few Uni towns in this current batch closing. Still say main criteria are leases.

There are only 54 stores closing in this round. I received this information from https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eoNePyxh1Iczg_soVHoOcizNH5WKO1YwMFt1bw_3RG4/edit. I was just writing what stores might still be there, lets say 4 or 5 or 10 years down the road, if they are still around. If they get bought out by another company.

Great question! I was wondering the same thing when I heard Ann Arbor was closing. They draw so much revenue from the university. What is the closing criteria?!

Folks here that think this company has a chance…..you’re delusional. BBBY was finished years ago through greed and MT finally ended it. Anyone still working for them, take them for whatever is left.

I am basing this off of where Sears, Kmart, Sam Goody(referencing Medford, Oregon), RadioShack, and Blockbuster (referencing Bend, Oregon) still actually have stores at or had stores at recently. Then again, some of these stores still have locations because they were bought from their bankruptcy or are independently owned locations of these brands.

Location and remodeled or not doesn’t mean a thing with BBBY. They’ve already ki---d the main players and the rest will follow,

Last or not, in the end they will all be closed. Once chapter 11 is declared it will be a quick demise.

Again, Orland Park was remodeled and was at the hub of SW burbs shopping, just as Schaumburg was for NW burbs. It was one of the first closed in Chicago area. The newer remodeled ones are not spared.
