Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Is Cost Plus World Market a better and more profitable brand than BB&B??

Is Cost Plus World Market a better and more profitable brand than BB&B?? I know Bed Bath and Beyond doesn't own them anymore and I don't really have any information because they are a privately owned company. But I don't think they have been closing stores since they were sold and have stayed open in areas Bed Bath and Beyond has closed at. Will World Market outlive BB&B?? I know when BB&B owned them, I would have said Bed Bath and Beyond was the stronger brand. But I don't know anymore.

I have always thought they were the better brand at WM, but I worked at one that was Inside a BBBY. I can tell you the biggest seller by far was the coffee as we had a huge variety back in 2018. Easily larger than BBBYs I have been in since. The backstock was huge in a flagship store:one 30 foot wide aisle with coffee packed to the high ceiling. So at least 20 feet in the air above our lighting fixtures. The replen was huge as well, and I was pretty much assigned to keep it flowing. At one time it was the only dept with increased sales within the store due to the coffee sales. I liked talking to fellow foodies.
