If this company doesn't take care of us, I don't understand why we should take care of the company. I've been indifferent to everything that happens here lately and I'm trying to find a new job. So should everyone. What do we get from worrying what will happen to BBBY? Nothing, we're just wasting energy instead of devoting ourselves to taking our career under our control.

Bottom line is this - You WILL NOT have a job very soon! So keep giving your all! Yay for Mark Triton! At least he bailed in time....hahaha
At 53, the people who reaped the rewards were always the managers. And the people who did the real work were the floor associates.
I was one of the complainers that we did not have all oars in the water at 53. We had one 25 year vet who was coasting on the work of others. As a result, little wonder that our newbies did the same. but I also know they were just there as temps.
All companies, even non profits, expect loyalty but rarely give it in return.
I am glad you are venting and realizing the bitter truth of BBBY. I got the idea at my old store that people stayed for their long time comrades and out of habit. Why they did not think there was something better? Who knows? Fear of the unknown or Stockholm Syndrome!
Try being a fairly experienced associate. ALL instore managers are new and not from within. They have zero interest in former culture and experiences that a few of us left still know inside and out. If anything is ever mentioned, you are labeled as being out of touch and too controlling of the high schoolers that have zero experience, zero effort, and zero ownership. If anything is suggested to "supervisors" who have never in their lives managed anything more than a small crew at a mall store or a restaurant, you are labeled as a complainer. Keeping mouth shut now, doing the bare minimum, and not lifting a finger to fix any of the thousands of issues seen every shift unless directed to by half assed supervisors. Ridiculous.
And with all that being said, some of the head honchos over at corporate should work in a store for a day. Then they can see the abuse their employees take. Yelled at, cursed out and even sp-t on then the customers say you won’t have a job soon. But before you storm out would you like to join our welcome rewards plus program. It is all just a joke at this point.
I agree with you. The company expects loyalty but treat us like pawns who are expendable when they need to save a few dollars. There is no future left working for this company.
