Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

This makes me sad

Watching a company die is sad in so many ways. There's the wasted potential, the suffering it causes to people who are losing their jobs, and the greed that destroys everything. Bed Bath and Beyond was once a great place to work. Seeing it in a state of complete disarray hurts those of us who have been here for a while.

Dear  @zyp+1kqBldnB,

I understand the anger but most of the really GOOD managers at 53 left for other companies who treated them better. That is not to say the replacements were up to snuff, but per many of you on here, they started scraping the bottom of the barrel out of necessity, It gets around that the company is spiraling downward and you start hiring the U Haul guys because nobody better shows up!

And we were a store where one of the ASMs got canned for watching po-nos in his office!

I suppose you have heard of the SEC investigating the supply chain excuse for this place. We will wait for results, I guess, but I always found something fishy about blaming ONLY the supply chain back then. Numerous folks on here said everyone had issues and so what? But then again, people used to defend MT to the death on here. Usually the death of their BBBY careers. I will just say there is speculation that some creative misreporting may be behind this and may have something to do with Arnal and RC leaving the scene.

Even worse a manager in our district as 0 retail experience! Managed a U- storage. And they wonder why the company is 1 step away from the great beyond!

Don't worry, the crack instore management team newly hired from managing a corner gas station, a consignment shop, and a footlocker store with total retail experience of maybe 5 years will surely turn it all around in all the stores. In the entire district ( 10 or 12 stores now, as lost count) there might be 4 or 5 professional managers that have been around more than 3 years and out of those 4 or 5 I can only come up with 2 that were "assistants", and somehow stayed after demotion and half pay to "supervisors". EVERYone else in "management" in the entire district have zero clue what the h*ll they are doing. Period. But bless their little hearts.
