Stx eyes selling Longmont campus

Must be tough time ahead for stx. Time has changed. Feel bad to see a tech company struggling to adapt. https://www.bizjournals.com/denver/news/2022/11/10/seagate-data-storage-campus-sale-denver-metro-area.html

Better sooner than later

It's no consolation to those who are affected, but in any case I think it's better to be cut now than to wait in uncertainty for another wave. It's not a good time to lose a job, but I believe that many will get a new and better offer faster than... — read more

Lack of good communication

This is too frequent a problem for many companies, but I think the lack of good communication is a huge problem here. People make decisions based on rumors. Additionally, they lose motivation because poor communication is resulting in frustration... — read more

Package

Maybe I missed it, but what were people offered in terms of a package that got laid off? 2wks/year of service? I thought that's what was typically given in the past.

Too much fat left behind

Too many managers who do nothing but go from one meeting to another to discuss things they discussed five times already in the same week are still here, and too many good employees who did important work that contributed to the company's bottom line... — read more

Now what happens?

Some are saying it's done, others are saying it'll last the whole week, and I even heard a coworker say nobody will be safe until the end of the year (he wouldn't say where he heard it). Is there any way to know who among them is right? I don't want... — read more

passed over

Thumbs up if you are now feeling disappointed that you didn't get a package and will work on until the next opportunity with a sense of dread.

Layoffs

I know some groups are done but if we haven't been affected, does that mean that we're still in danger today or for the rest of the week?

NRM actions

Looks like things are done here at NRM. Slider and HGA groups hit hard at 20 to 30 percent. As others have noted purchasing group hit very hard also. Other groups hit in MN but those seem very targeted.

Normandale RIFs occurring

I don't know the extent but I do know that at least one mid/senior person was given notice today already. Someone I wouldn't have expected. Checking with all my sources but it is still pretty quiet. Likely just starting to pull people in to give... — read more

STST 150 going

Rumours that 150 are to be let go from STST - targeting long term sick and people who work across all shifts on days due to health issues . Machines powered down too on a daily basis

Rubber Stamp Board of Directors

The Board has simply gone along with all the nonsensical ideas of the CEO. If STX had an actual participating BOD, what would they do to fix the business?

How is BE/BPM adding to their team?

I’ve heard of some of the groups getting impacted, some total elimination. But explain to me how BE/BPM is still hiring & adding to their team past next week. Their reputation is pathetic internally, yet somehow like roaches or rats they’re still... — read more
