Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

Now what happens?

Some are saying it's done, others are saying it'll last the whole week, and I even heard a coworker say nobody will be safe until the end of the year (he wouldn't say where he heard it). Is there any way to know who among them is right? I don't want to stress if I don't have to but it's hard to relax when there's so much conflicting information going around.

3000 persons impacted was an estimate. The goal is to remove $110M in headcount dollars. That doesn't equate equally to 3000 so it could be more, could be less. This was also in the quarter report.

If teams like business excellence are still around the layoffs are not done.

Why bother to think so much. If layoff just take & go. Keep thinking outside won’t be easy life for you is it?

It won’t stop until the heads reach 3000. That’s a promise to the market. Unless the revenue increases, but it looks unlikely. Situation becomes worse.
