Please don't be hasty with your judgement. It's a lot of work collecting status from my 4 direct reports, using said status to create a spreadsheet and beautiful charts to present to my manager, who then does the same to his manager.

This RIF was handled poorly but nit that bad. You may get a phone call, oops sorry no more desk phones. But it will be done in person. Not via email.
RIF at LCO is confirmed, at least I know a few people that have been told to come in and one has already received their package...
