One fab is for sale and another will shutdown soon.
Another wrong call by Management
Why did they chose Apopka over NC, last time when I went to Apopka for training, my trainers were very rude and had no intention to train me. I wasted my three days over there. I think Apopka site should be number one in shutting down list.
Future
At least in NC we still have a chance at a future with the possibility of a sale. The Fab in FL is so worthless that it can’t be sold, it is just going to be shut down and dismantled.
What is happening?
We get an email in NC telling us that they are selling our FAB, but that was all we were told. Does anyone have any legit answers? What will happen to all the employees currently working in our FAB? has anyone heard who may be buying us?
Party in Apopka!
Thank You NC fab employees for giving your jobs to us.
So long Qorvo in FL
All operations in FL to cease at the end of this quarter. It was good while it lasted...
Tik Tok Tik Tok.....
Time start now....we all will be unemployed soom.
Worst place! Be careful if you are accepting job in Qorvo.
I have to admit that Qorvo is the worst place that I worked for in my 28 years of semiconductor industry experience. Place is totally full of incompetent looser managers, crapy tools/process, constant stressfull work environment,no future direction... — read more

2018 iPhone contract

Next "separation"
Does anyone know if they got the numbers they needed with this layoff? Or will we be going thru this again soon..
Hey Qorvo, how about VSP Round 2?
Couple tweaks to the VSP offer and they can probably cut far more.
This will be the last straw for many of us
In our department it was pretty much the dead wood that got hit. My shift was untouched. the department has been morbidly under-staffed and overloaded with work and resposibilities for a long while. The dead wood at least produced some work, and now... — read more
My Thoughts
Going into this merger, TQ had activist investors seeking to break up the company. Meanwhile RF was plodding along, but not really making any money. So now we are three years into the merger, gross margins still low and still playing second fiddle to... — read more
Numbers

how much medical did the laidoff get
VSP'ers were offered 4 months.. How much did the involuntary get? And how many weeks paid?
Sad
I'm so sorry for those let go today. Undoubtedly, most who were laid off were the productive part of the workforce instead of the arrogant & nepotistic RFMD management structure. If someone were to design a organization whose main objective was to... — read more

Layoffs need to solve the bloated management issue

What a shame for Apopka site.

Productivity and morale is down.

18 Millions in compensation by the 5 top executives
Hopefully we see at the very minimum a 30% reduction in compensation there too, so that "we can fine tune the organization." With what Bob made in 2016, we could have saved at least 60 engineers, and probably more than 100 technicians. What a shame.
