Looks like Taiwan, China, and India has been affected so far.
Anyone getting a hint or two they getting laid off?
I haven't gotten anything but apparently a couple of my shift friends say the manager has been acting weird around them. I wonder if we're getting let go. Any similar experience?
Gooooo Micron-on-on-on.
Who came up with that stupid cheer anyway? It's like we're in some communist re-education camp. But remember, people is one of our core values.
It is hard to believe that they actually enjoy cultivating fear...
But that's exactly what it seems to me. The higher ups enjoy cultivating the culture of fear where employees feel panic and stress at the possibility of losing their job and source of income. Did you notice that too?
I wonder if tomorrow is the day?
Internally they said early February so I wonder if they'd do it tomorrow

Expected
Based on how they manage the company, it is predictabe the company going to collapse. And its happening now. To much politics. To many unwanted position. Its funny when someone who works on tool, their gjs lower than those who supply parts. How do... — read more
How bad is Micron's situation compared to Intel?
I know we're doing 10% layoff and other cost cutting. I just saw Intel cut base pay and whole bunch of other cuts. I know this is apparently "the worst downturn in 13 years". How bad should we expect the next few quarters to be? More cuts? Any... — read more

Micron has a very Toxic and Abusive Work Culture and Environment
I worked at Micron and left due to a very toxic and abusive co-worker. Everyone in the lab complained to management and HR but they did nothing because worker was a minority and they were too scared to do anything. There were also a few very... — read more
Does Micron not have to file a WARN notice?
I don't see one on the website
Minor update
Vp level still figuring out which projects to cut. 100% 1s are out. A few departments got the 'all clear'. As in; they will not see layoffs this round. Those have been communicated already
Subtle signs
My anxiety is huge. Are there any subtle signs by which one can assume getting laid off?
I regret not leaving earlier
With this kind of management, there is no doubt that nobody should have high hopes that things will get better here. The way the company treats its best employees is shameful. I only regret that I didn't leave earlier, when I could have found a... — read more
I'm working on a somewhat important project and started recently do I have to worry?
Manager doesn't seem concerned about layoffs. I'm a new grad (joined few months ago) and they are ramping me more and more to contribute to a project. We are already short handed due to hiring freeze. How worried should I be?
anyone knows what would the severance package be like?
Wondering what would be the severance package this time, and also curious on Micron past layoff's severance package
Leadership Intentionally making it difficult
I think leadership is intentionally making things difficult so employees quit voluntarily and they can hit their 10% headcount reduction. Its a smart move but it will cause a lot of unnecessary anxiety and also reputational damage. Also, I dont... — read more
Will TPG be told who's getting laid off this week?
I hate this stupid wait.
Heard some engineering teams got cut out of some sensitive sites around Micron recently...
I wonder if this is part of the whole need to know cr-p or the impending layoffs
I am spending entirely too much time worrying about layoffs
I haven't been productive as I could since the announcements. Been spending so much time on this website
Heard that the names are being finalized but no contact with managers?
I don't get it so this is just VP level decisions. No discussions with managers on who's who. Might be a purge like 2016. Low ratings are pretty much goners followed by projects that suck.
Early retirement package.
I’m thinking they will look at the older workers and offer early retirement packages. Personally I feel Micron needs to cut out upper management. There is way more upper management positions than what is needed.
Talked to my manager about layoffs...
They said they know nothing yet since it's apparently still at VP level. He seems awfully calm about it and doesn't think our project would be cut. I've been hired as an engineer less than 6 months ago and I'm on Visa and I have no idea what to do if... — read more
Should I still be worried about layoffs if I got exceeds expectations rating in past couple of years?
YOE range: 5yrs to 10yrs Geo: US
They just cancelled H1b sponsorship meeting for everyone
Didn't even reschedule. I guess they aren't filing this year.
Intel layoffs, Samsung down 69% operating revenue, GF layoffs, Vendors next,
ASML might be the only safe place for now. Whoever gets layed off from Micron is gonna have a rough time
Here's an older employees risk assessment list.
As a person who's been through and survived a couple of layoffs at Micron let me give some insight on your risk factor. NAND is typically more at risk than DRAM because DRAM is higher chunk of Micron's revenue. If you are in the US you are at... — read more
I really want to apply to new jobs but I can't afford to pay the relocation money I got
New hire. Given the layoff concerns I was thinking of applying to new jobs but I don't know what to do if I get a new job and have to leave. The contract says I have to pay the relocation money to Micron.
Not performance based
Just heard that the decision is about saving dollars, not a number of headcount reduced. So poor performers may survive if they do not make as much money. Also, those is higher cost geos are more likely to be selected, regardless of performance. — read more
I hate the wait
I know there's no way around it but the wait is ki----g me. I'm starting to feel as if their goal is to get us to up and quit on our own because we can't take the pressure and stress of pending cuts. I'm ashamed to admit that it might be working... — read more
If a voluntary was offered
I think most of the employees would leave. Who would stay here if it was offered? Hardly anyone.
Any layoff till now outside us?
Italy? China? India?
