Thread regarding Micron Technology Inc. layoffs

Expected

Based on how they manage the company, it is predictabe the company going to collapse. And its happening now. To much politics. To many unwanted position. Its funny when someone who works on tool, their gjs lower than those who supply parts. How do they justify so many technical position when the job not related with and technicalities. First time saw supervisor positions with no subordinate. They discriminate long service employees buy hiring new staff with higher salary and gjs. It is ok if these new hire can perform. But 2 years in to job and still asking the seniors how to do job. Its weird. Even now there are so many undertable dealing going on where some employee asks for layoff just to take money and rejoin once economy recover. Basically there are many who will go on whats seems like paid leave. This restructuring will failed to achieve its target unless these vp's do not let the managers interfere in the decision. Whats next will be where sanjay himself will be sacked and new ceo going to do mass purge on higher level. Corruption and workplace politics at its peak. Even now with such a drastic cost reduction we can see the boot lixxxers and feeling the heat. Everything becomes messy now. I personally saw a manager scold his favourite staff for failing to handle extra work. Really enjoyed what i see. Whats best for the company is to purge all lickexrs. If not, rest in peace micron. Investors are not stupid. They want result. Not drama and grand mothers story. ( i have been in micron for 25 years. And i really missed steve.

the first thing Sanjay did after becoming CEO is purging those useless old engineers with a good package. Then everyone gets rating. I would say I like what he has done.

If you think Micron is not for you: Collect your stuff from your desk, Clean up and leave. Go somewhere were the flow of business is more psycologically pleasing to you.

It happens repeatedly when economy is down. Did you still remember Micron retrenched all in IM flash in Singapore in 2008, move all dram business out of Singapore in 2013? People come, and people leave, and business continues.

NGL I agree things could be better. Lots of political positions could be eliminated. Some of them are there to meet union requirements since we support automakers now.

But your last statement about missing Steve shows you don't understand things well. Under Steve's leadership this company had much worse issues and almost completely shut down during 2009 with 2000+ Layoffs. We actually have cash reserves now in case of downturns.
