They said they know nothing yet since it's apparently still at VP level. He seems awfully calm about it and doesn't think our project would be cut. I've been hired as an engineer less than 6 months ago and I'm on Visa and I have no idea what to do if I lose this job. Literally the only offer I got. Any advice on what to do?

Do we know the criteria for the names being put forward?
matches what I've heard ---- VP's or SVP's need to sign off on all proposed names. However the names have indeed been put forward but the ink isn't dry. HR ensures compliance or equity in the names -- not a gross imbalance of X, Y or Z type people, then communication and approach on how and when to communicate -- then those impacted are notified. Should be around Feb 10th or Feb 13th.
It's been well over a month now. Not 2 to 3 weeks
No need to worry too much. In the past, when there was rif, once it is announced, in two or three weeks, all were done. Now, seems still in planning stage...
