Wow! Still lot of work to do!
Enhanced retirement - US only?
Is the enhanced retirement being offered outside US?
I hate this is happening
It’s not that I’ve been super happy working here. But I’m terrified of losing a job. I’ve been looking for another job for a while, and it really doesn’t look good out there. But beggars can’t be choosers. If I’m goner this round, I’ll just have to... — read more
Will SURPLUS be deducted from severance pay?
I read that 401k contributions are not deducted from a severance lump sum payout. What about SURPLUS? Will they use my selected bonus % like they do for EB? Or normal %? Or nothing? Hoping to shield some of the lump sum from a big tax year.
Can someone explain how Ireland CPM payout is calculated
For someone with 25yrs service and 2k weekly wages
Start date
Do we have any idea when the cuts will start?
Is anybody else worried about severance?
Laying off so many people is expensive. What's to stop the leadership from reducing severance drastically to save on layoff-related costs? This is stressful enough as it is, but when you add that into the mix, everything becomes ten times worse. Is... — read more
Any thoughts on SPTD
Sptd just had a CPM last month and lost a good amount of people. How much lower will they go in this group or chandler site ??
Seems like someone is pushing a narrative against Intel.
Wantonly spreading negativity about the company. I suspect it is private equity firms and short sellers. Hard data shows AMD cpus have higher failure rates than Intel CPUs and yet we hear only Intel CPU failures in the... — read more
How will the layoffs be conducted?
How will the layoffs be conducted? Will it follow the approach of targeting specific individuals as was done in 2016, or will each business unit be allocated a budget and have the authority to determine which employees will be affected?
The racist comments are being made by Intel H.R
The racist comments are being made by Intel H.R. on posts that are negative toward any leadership. They know that posts get taken down in a few hours if they have racist comments in them.
Intel recalls ~20K layoff workers back to deal with bigger problems from the CPUs
Sorry for the mistake that made stock drop last week.
Someone should post on Circuit
Someone hopefully has or will post in Ciruit the stock sell by ELT and shady trading that was known to them before announcing layoffs. This is a crime and should be accountable
Body language
When is the world going to learn. People who are making mechanical hand gestures when they talk are laying or trying to sell something. Add to that to the 4 interviews I watched where Pat said the exact same rehearsed verbiage loosely matching it to... — read more
California 60 day notice
As per law in California, do we have 60days? For example if notified on 1st October, we will be on a payroll until December 1? Thanks
I see you Pat
Someone is going through and posting nasty racist comments on the posts that they want taken down. Nice try! I guess we will just have to just keep reposting our layoff comments daily.
McKinsey
Did they really need bozos at McKinsey and Saf and his Corporate Strategy dimwits to tell them that there are inefficiencies in the company? Utterly clueless execs have no idea about a modern semiconductor company staffing levels. The entire ELT... — read more
Disgruntled engineer
Before Intel hired Pat back they should have questioned the fact that he was pushed out for being a whiny elite pr--k and couldn't accept the fact that Larrabee was an endless money pit with no chance of success.
Intel should hire ex-TSMC executive as CEO

About the earnings date change…
From an earlier comment: “Public SEC filings that many execs and board members had planned stock sales on 7/30/2024. Had the earnings announcement been on 7/25/2024, per normally followed timing, each would have lost about $25,000 with stock having... — read more

D-mb question but gotta ask, does the severance package count as W2 income and taxable ?
Unionize
If union was in place this wouldn’t have happened
Serious discussion. Are we all hacks?
We all see it… Intel was a plane sputtering in the air. Post pandemic gave Intel its last push and the plane is now crashing down. All you see on this site are complaints of pay and “they better start paying us” before we leave for greener... — read more

Intel culture
I don’t understand the talk about the degrading of Intel culture over the last several years. I started working at Intel in 2001 and it was already a toxic work environment then. Rampant backstabbing due to ranking and rating, favoritism galore... — read more

Golden Parachute
Financial filings show ELT pushed through insane severance packages for themselves just a few weeks ago . And the head of HR has left the building and is on the way to Paris for vacation. Very different family from mine.
15k target and 15k eligible for retirement. Is there a silent message?
It was mentioned in ACM that 15k employees are eligible for early retirement. And the headcount reduction target is 15k. Is that a silent message that they want all older employees to get out? Will they be targeted in the involuntary phase if they... — read more

G12 and G13 excluded from CPM
I don't understand this. They are excluded from CPM VSP but not from ISP. What is the point of doing that ? A G11 may as well decline to do CPM VSP and they may save more money with getting G12 and G13s apply for VSP. Or are they too valuable for... — read more
