Every Intel Employee’s Guide to Surviving These Stressful Times

The part of your brain that determines your stress level is not under your conscious control, but it listens to what your conscious is saying. Here are some tips to pacify it:

— Tell yourself the truth. If you’re trying to calm down by telling yourself these are the last layoffs and your stress center can tell you don’t really believe that, it will ramp up your stress
— Have backup plans. If you know you have a plan for if things go further south and you know it is a good plan, your stress center will cut you some slack, because that’s what it was bugging you for in the first place
— Deal with problems one day at a time. Sure Intel might break up later, but you have your plan, so try not to think about that.
— Vent. If someone listens sympathetically it will make you feel better
— Go to your happy place.
— What are you doing on this board? I guess it can be good entertainment? You’re not going to hear positive news or rumors here are you?

Good luck to all of you.

Good points OP. Meditation, daily exercise, good sleeping habits, balanced diet and surrounding oneself with positive thoughts can absolutely bring down stress and anxiety. Good luck to all. September will be the hardest as ISPs are expected at the beginning of tge month.

Thank you for reminding me

In my 24 years at Intel there have been a lot of bad days. And on bad days I remind myself “there is life after Intel” and I keep up my hope

Maybe you can maintain hope too
