Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Anyone here actually like their current role and worried to stick around?

I like my current role, and I am learning something new every day. My boss is great, and I no longer have to work 10h every weekend. But I'm worried that once PattyG Chops The Wood™, and I survive the chopping, it will no longer be enjoyable. Morale will be sh-t, workload will be sh-t, interesting projects will have been cut and I'd just be staring at yet another cycle of wood chopping next year. Don't wanna leave, but I guess I need to?

@ren

Same situation I am in.

Like the role, don't like the manager, team is borderline okay...BU is a joke...

Looking for another employer to do what I'm currently doing. Fu-k Intel

I love my job and there is potential for growth. I don’t have a great boss though. I guess I will be ISP’d. I am at the last stage of an interview. I hope it works out, I did not make it to the last stage for the others I had in pipeline. Good luck to everyone.

Unfortunately it’s going to dramatically change with people leaving etc. your work will double maybe even triple in the aftermath. For those who remain and survive it won’t be a pleasant low stress place anywhere within company

I’m enjoying my current role , am a high performer and believe what I do is strategically important and valuable …. Was happy to stick it out a bit longer, BUT

Have been told I’m going to be ISPd lol ; pricks. Have 3 interviews lined up this week…. So f*%k them …

If you are independently wealthy and can afford to donate your 100% to Intel without commensurate recompense, sure why not?

Yeah I hear you
Enjoy my 90%, recently promoted and my boss took care of me last year (extra $ incentive)
So it’s not like he job or the people I work with. It’s #3 do I believe Intel will survive and thrive or is this just the last gasp before death.

I’m in a similar boat. Enjoy the job and the team, but I’m not confident in intels future. I’m preparing myself to leave even if I don’t get ISP because sticking around will be shittier due to how benefits are changing.

Grab bag priorities of the day/week only ! The rest of the problematic issues with hardware and software can fall by the wayside !
Just say No ! I'm too damn busy with priority #1 tool set issue !
Until they can back fill from Oregon and Israel !
