At the high level the foundry plan has to succeed or be sold or Intel is dead.
Also Intel X86 design with the overhead, culture and structure in design is not going succeed or grow against the competition. X86 is a legacy architecture on a slow trend downward. For the last 40 years we have almost zero success stepping outside the x86 box.
Not just Intel that's behind ! ARM, AMD, Samsung behind NVidia now !
Guadi Ai will succeed because we have big data center partners !
ELTs are strategic F Ups and some should be kicked out of tech entirely !
Am I tired of the games management has been playing - absolutely.
Do I want to see Intel fail - absolutely not. Up until the last decade or so, Intel was a company to look up to and respect. It can get there again, but it does require the right leadership.
And I am not convinced the current ELT is up to the task.
Intel has been failing the last 5 or 10 years and still repeating the same turn around, recovery, success etc ... crappies every quarter. Aren't you tire of lying over and over again? I will raise my feet and butt up for his plan.
Pat can save us! Have faith!
Of course we want success
The question is do we think Pat can or anybody else
I want it to ultimately succeed. Just not sure I want to go through the pain any longe to get there myself. Sorry.
