The Fall of Rome

Huge operation center quietly getting set up in the Philippines. Layoffs every 2 months through 2027. Poland to have massive layoffs. Berwyn Pennsylvania getting gutted. India given increased role they can’t handle. Senior Management denies all and plays d-mb with the mid level managers. Mangers in London, Germany, and Singapore making all the decisions now. This is no longer an American company. Offshore, offshore, offshore. AI, AI, AI - which has proven to be a failure so far. PA is a particular mess, with virtually no competent leaders left. No leaders of people, just senior managers who have no idea of what actually occurs in their own office and couldn’t identify half the people they see on the way to the bathroom. 12-14 hour days are the norm and expected. Run far, far away from this company, unless you are filipino. Then you have a future. Or maybe if you want to do client service. They’ll need to hire more there to explain to all the clients why Rome is burning and the service has become dogshit. Side note, they’ll do a terrible job explaining because they have no idea what is going on. just mouthpieces…. My advice, get out now, especially if you are in the US or Poland. The founders of SS are rolling in their graves at what Uncle Ron and Clair Williams have done to the place.

Legit Question

Do we really think the company will lay off all merchant facing jobs and move to the Phillipines? How could we do that and still be an American company and publicly traded?

This is alarming to think we could lose our jobs just because cost is cheaper in a third world country. Is this what worldpay does? I heard they are closing most buildings down at the end of the year, except Cincinnati, Atlanta, Rochester, and Jacksonvill. Is that true? Thesis is scary times. 😢

CIO Consumer

Any chance that India or the Philippines could keep Kerrins while she executes her global cheerleading tour? Many I believe would agree that AI could replace her role and save millions . Or a lower paid CIO in India could do the job since much of it is done in India and the person would be smarter.

HOT OFF THE PRESS

For those who have questions or wondered about your coworkers in the Philippines : well here is some info. Once they are hired it is near impossible to fire them. They have extreme rights. The country is employee friendly so if a company wants to terminate them they have so many steps . First you have tell them that they have commited employment violation in writing , than they have to be given advisement letter which than they have to respond. Than after that there are all kinds of administrative hurdles and if you are successful they are than paid severance of half their yearly salary for each year they have been there . So if 15 years than half their salary for each year they have been there and apparently fraud is rampant in the call centers with tons of teams doing all kind of financial fraud with the manager and the teams manipulating the incentive with some teams making up to 5000 a month each in pay and no one is able to catch them. They lose millions to this fraud.

IBM gets worse every year

A 6 year veteran here - it's fairly long #tenure for IBM... No matter how highly you are rated at #IBM or how many years you work for IBM, please do not relax and think for one minute that your job may be secure.

A large number of my friends here at IBM were laid off, so they can move our work to #India, #Philippines and pay a fraction of our salaries to local staff.

When they lay you off you lose your matching #401K funds, they do that on purpose, that's why they are not matching every month...

Anyhow, no respect or value to employees is shown to employees... #IBM is sneaky they send more and more jobs offshore, they bring #H1B folks here - they do not release info on what's going on - they hide it...

Dont you start me on management, it sucks, managers are frustrated too - there layers upon layers of management, a ton of people will check your work, and stuff like that, they will tell yo what to do often contradicting each other - oh, it's so bad bro...
