The plant also builds the Chevrolet Bolt EV and will add the Equinox. However, 900 workers at the facility are currently on indefinite layoff. TelaForce Announces Kansas City Closure, 104 Jobs Lost

TelaForce, a Kansas City company, plans to close. It filed a WARN notice with Missouri on January 19. The company will cease operations on March 20. This closure will result in 104 job losses. The company stated government contracts ended.

TelaForce, LLC has disclosed plans to permanently lay off 104 employees and close its Kansas City facility after its government contracts came to an end. The information was shared in a filing made under the federal WARN Act. The company said the site at 2300 Main Street will officially close on March 20.

Kansas City’s transit agency is facing a budget shortfall. City council members have already approved about 78 million dollars for KCATA and are considering an additional 46 million dollars to keep operations funded through October. In return, they want significant operational changes from the agency.

The proposal would cut routes and reduce service, include staffing reductions, and explore a fare program that charges riders who can afford to pay. The council is expected to vote on the ordinance next week. The aim is to stabilize finances while reshaping service levels, but the tradeoff could be fewer buses and drivers across the city.

Has anyone heard what is happening with the new KC campus? I’ve heard a few rumors that Hagerstown and Coral will close as they have no more tax incentives and employees will be “offered” relocation to KC.
