CFO Mark Mason's Comment on Reorg

CFO Mark Mason said that "the reorganization plan will result in a 15% reduction in functional roles for its top two layers of management." Do we think this rate of layoffs will increase as seniority decreases (15% of EMT-1/-2, 20% of EMT -3, 25% of... — read more

I recall during a job interview here

When the hiring manager mentioned that when layoffs happened there, that they had often stepped in and stopped some of a few who they felt were really hard working from being let go. I wonder do many managers do this?

Just Received Citi Offer

Just got an offer to join Citi in risk. Currently at another bank going through re-orgs and layoffs. Is it safe to join Citi? Or could I these new offers be rescinded or positions cut? Thanks!

Regardless of what your role is, programmer, number cuncher, project manager, secretary, tech, etc… there are other employment sectors out there other than finance. If you are let go, why ONLY apply for jobs at other banks? Branch out. Try the... — read more

About layoffs. I came from another large corporation, and they dragged this on for months and months with useless town hall meetings, and threatening emails. Round after round. Then it would stop. Then another big one. Sometimes you had... — read more

Will SVP position be eliminated?

Will the reorg eliminate the SVP position like in other large banks? SVP is indeed a bloated title and position, the tasks/fuy of which are usually also executed by VPs

If laying off, why are there new jobs posted?

Are the jobs from people who left, were laid off or newly created jobs? Seems like the job posting mill would dry up a bit since we are 'transforming', making cuts and such.

Fake Resumes and Consultants

Citi is bloated with hiring of fake resumes and consultants. There is no standardized interview process in Citi. These consultants do basic work and are hired on favoritism. Its a good time to do background check and let go these fakes.

New York Employees at Highest Risk of Layoff?
