Oracle should invest in its employees

Instead of treating employees like trash and alienating most of the workforce, Oracle should invest in employee satisfaction and happiness. It has been proven again and again that a happy employee is more productive, more engaged, more loyal and... — read more

Many leaving without a big severance payoff

I am looking for a new job and it is in my interest to get it before I get laid off because my severance pay would not be large. But what surprises me is that many who would otherwise get a big severance payoff are leaving as well? Why leave this... — read more

Most managers are holding back talent

I have worked in several companies in the industry, and it is not that this does not happen in other companies, but here it is quite obvious that managers are holding back talent and deliberately preventing them from fulfilling their potential... — read more

Continuation of layoffs

I wish there was a way to know when layoffs will continue. I envy those who are no longer stressing over it after the latest round but for me, knowing that there's more to come is still keeping me up at night - including right now. I'm not sure how... — read more

Severance

How much money are y’all getting for the severance packages. Dollar amount or percentage of salary would be helpful to know to see if I got screwed.

Totally true

From an earlier post … “If you have been with the company a long time then you're getting extra screwed so you get the added bonus of knowing that college grad's who know nothing about Oracle makes more than you.”

Oracle on resume

Someone's comment that Oracle looks good on a resume made me laugh. I wonder if that was a sarcastic comment or if someone actually thinks that Oracle still looks good on a resume?

Lucky 17!

Well once again August 17th has rolled around. Take a moment to remember USA 17 now lonely in the Emerald City pond and wish the Lord of Lanai a happy 78th and a good price on the Florida teardown he's flipping for 9 figures.

So when is the next scheduled reaming?

Last few weeks have been a total nightmare. I'm starting to feel like Kevin Bacon in Animal House during the initiation scene. I'm sick of prostrating myself at this company. When are they going to subject us to it all over again? Has the dust... — read more

Disappointed that you weren't cut?

I'm a little ashamed to say it, considering all the people who were affected and to whom this job meant a lot. However, I am totally disappointed that I didn't get cut. All the time I worked minimally, hoping that I would be cut and get the... — read more

Does Layoff Agreement have non-compete?

I don't have any form of non-compete as it stands. Does anyone know what the severance agreement looks like? I have less than 1 year here so my incentive to agree to some bloated severance contract is non-existent. If I get laid off from Oracle can... — read more

No stability here

Stability in any case should just be erased from your mind completely because there is no such thing as stability at Oracle anymore. Those who want a stable position, maybe it would be better to start looking for something new right away.

People leaving on their own.

My experience throughout the years tells me that we have just scratch the surface in terms of layoffs. When layoffs happen at Oracle they tend to go on for a longer period of time in larger and smaller waves. I believe that a lot of the employees are... — read more
