Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

RIF Nov 1st

Seems like a lot of BUs were impacted but I don't know the total number of people. Sorry for those who were let go, I hope you find somewhere better soon.

The entire world is going through a major reorg.
This is not just the typical qrtly layoff's. Things are changing fast.
Not the first time in history. Gov't involvement is at all time high in the US.
As has been for other countries for centuries.
Nothing we can do.
Gov't is looking for unreported income. Agents are being trained where to find using AI for quicker find, collection, processing, etc. Gov't spending comes with a price and they don't want to raise taxes before election. Regardless of who wins, taxes will be increased after if not,. before. One example is, China needs money and US owes alot.
Wars are costly. Things are changing.
No industry is completely safe but, there are will always be IT jobs.
if you get layed off - private sector is hiring. Right now, smaller is safer for alot of reasons.

Anyone who thinks that Oracle layoffs are over is a fool. Layoffs is an annual thing and Oracle. No one at Oracle is safe, ever.
