Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Over time in any job it’s inevitable

During my extensive tenure as a m1 or higher at Oracle, I consistently strived to uphold ethical standards. However, this proved challenging, particularly within the context of company acquisitions. The organization exhibited an excessive top-heavy structure, replete with numerous VPs, especially within the accounting and engineering departments. This structure led to a lack of a unified vision, with shifting goals being the norm.

In alignment with company guidelines, I made efforts to recognize and reward deserving employees based on their contributions, without favoring personal connections. Unfortunately, meetings often proved unproductive, featuring repetitive discussions and seldom addressing action items. Over the course of my career, I observed numerous projects that failed to reach the market. This was not due to shortcomings in engineering or project management but rather the recurring question of the purpose behind these projects, to which I rarely received a satisfactory answer.

Moreover, I noticed a trend that unless one held a senior VP position, long-term job security at Oracle was precarious. This has led me to strongly believe that Oracle could potentially reduce its workforce by 30% across the board without significantly altering its operations. The company's focus on profitability is evident through its relentless pursuit of new technologies with established customer bases to replace older products. They are good at this.

Change remains unlikely, and the cycle of layoffs will persist as it does every quarter. Over time, the inevitability of this will become apparent.

I take pride in having assisted numerous employees in advancing their careers and providing opportunities to learn new technologies if they expressed interest. I harbor no regrets in this regard.

OP tells the truth. OP and others that have contributed truth

Deflector can’t handle reality. Too much to hide. . If this who says… he can do anything he wants just became he can.

Justice is well deserved. You’ll learn that Oracle is a publicly traded Corp and not your own personal slush fund.. You don’t get to treat people the way you do and get away with it.
Your dirty nasty evil ways are catching up to you.

This OP looks like a stuffed shirt with little real understanding of his job. Could also be a massive misogynist in my opinion. So easy for people to cover their tracks with nice words and fake comments.

Pizzas? This OP ate ALL the pizzas himself, then looked at everyone else and wondered why they were hungry. I guess he figures they should get their own.

The management at Oracle are literally some of the most unhuman people I ever came across. They are the people that when the teacher was out and came back, they told her everything everyone did. Most every manager I came in contact with was an absolute disaster. My first one had the skills of a gnat and was absolutely usless, a horrible mentor, a clown who su-kled at the teet of his leader. To this day he is still there milking it and you know what, everyone knows he's a little clown. The other managers I had, my Lord. Incompetent was an understatement. For the area I worked, they knew some archaic software or some new acquired software but couldn't tell the difference between a printer and container. Oracle is an accumulation of screwed up people and companies mixed with REAL hard working good people who lost SO MUCH of their time and lives to a company that literally couldnt grow a stalk of corn. What's even funnier was there are so many just "blah" people. Like people who have no desire for actually being good at anything...people that accepted their slaps from their owners. I never in my life saw so many cowards. Most of them middle aged men. Old, washed up, no sack any more...working consulting jobs that couldve been done by college grads. My time at Oracle was the biggest waste of my entire life. I legit didn't learn anything from the stiffs and cows I worked for. hahahahahahhahahahahaha. Even today me and ex Oracle people laugh at them. Theyre still there cause they bought all the stuff and need to pay it off.

I have seen much worse companies than Oracle regarding overtime. All in all, with work from home, I don't have overtime on average, it balances out. IC5 in SaaS.

Really?
Oracle?
Google?

Nothing more than layoffs will happen to anyone. Sound like very safe places to work to me.

How much do they budget for pizzas these days in lieu of raises or basic cost of living adjustments? Could a team of 15 employees get 10 pizzas?
