HMP is just plain d-mb

This modernization project has to be about the d-mbest thing they have come up with yet. I cannot imagine what “genius” decided to follow the likes of Exxon and Shell on this one, but why not? We copy them on everything because our leadership is... — read more

Chevron, BP, Shell

Pretty sure we are all using the same firm and formula. They are both ahead of our schedule. Might want to look into BP and Shell sites as foreshadowing.

Pay Determination

does anyone have information on the date when pay determination results will be released to employees?

The end of Agile?

Will this finally be the time that all the job titles with agile in them go away?

From MW

Today, Chevron announced a joint development with Engine No. 1 and GE Vernova to help meet the demand for scalable, reliable power solutions to enable advancements in Artificial Intelligence. The partnership will work directly with customers to... — read more

Reorg/layoffs - latest rumblings

Yes team leads/managers created lists in latter part of 2024 of what positions can be moved. Doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll be moving, but is added to the overall option. It was a difficult list to create. New high-level org charts and new job... — read more

Are new hires (<1 year) safe from layoffs?

I’ve heard time and again that new hires, less than 1 or 1.5 years experience out of university, have been safe from previous layoffs. Will this go-around be different or is there still some safety in being new?

What does GVCS do?

Other than track what the BUs are doing what does GVCS do? The reorg had better absorb or shrink this team. So many people on that team, but what do they deliver??

This is far from over

Who wants to bet there will be more delays, and we’ll have to wait months longer before this whole thing is resolved? I don’t know many people who have quit, which makes me think their plan to stress people into leaving isn’t working as well as they... — read more

Trump has issued an Executive Order pausing any additional money to be distributed. What will CCUS, CNE and Hydrogen do now? All the rats will start abandoning the ship now!

Executive retirement celebration

What did you think for those who went? BB’s poem - did he think it was funny? It was actually kind of lame, especially the part about how he became upstream CIO and knew nothing about upstream. CP’s very public challenging of resetting... — read more

Company healthcare contribution before 100%

Can any recent retirees or departures comment on how it really works with the company insurance contribution…and any advice? Would like to consider EOI if offered. I’m over 50 and with years of service have about 80% of company contribution. — read more

ENGINE Engineers

Hi Ya’ll. No layoff news here nor any cheap shots at anyone-just a general concern. There are colleagues that I’ve become close with and genuinely care about at Chevron. I am scared for them and myself to work in/on/around anything that is designed... — read more

Post EOI blues

Will there be an impact if those of us who want out, miss out on the easy money? Will be morale be affected if we see others get paid out but we remain?

EOI numbers

The unhappiness here us at all time highs as MW unleashes his grand vision of Cost Cutting to Win. I personally think the number of EOIs will be extremely high and this re-org will finish the company off after the last crippled it. Who here is going... — read more

Does the list already exist?

I can’t help but wonder if they already know who’s going to be laid off, if the list is already made and my manager knows but isn’t saying anything. The only reason I’d want to know in advance is because I’ve been job hunting. I wouldn’t leave... — read more

I can’t say I would regret being let go this year

I’ve been with Chevron for almost ten years now, and I’m exhausted. The work environment is increasingly toxic, work is becoming unrealistically demanding, and one still has no sense of a professional achievement. There are no career opportunities... — read more

Operations and Maintenance are the heart and soul!

I will throw in certain support staff also. We have government like layers of management. These layers of management are unnecessary in pulling and processing oil and yet they think it’s their bars and graphs and incessant meetings and speeches... — read more
