Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Well, No Work Got Done Today

More people in my group showed up for work today than I have seen in a long time. It was just to catch up on the gossip and try to figure out what the he-l was going on. Talk about confusion. I don't think much work will be going on for the next couple of weeks.

@a6+1 did you just blame workers on being sh-t, even when it's management's fault? Top tier gaslighter.

It's Chevron. Barely any work gets done on a normal day. It sounds like today wasn't very different

"Good. Management always, and I mean always, tries to scare people into working especially hard in a futile attempt to save their employment. It is all in vain because management has already decided which groups and which individual people are going to be cut."

If you hire the right people then you really don't need to scare them into doing the right thing. Good people want to be part of a successful company and will act in the company's best interest. If you have to resort to scare tactics then management is essentially admitting they hired the wrong people.
