BARNES & NOBLE BANKRUPTCY LOOMING

B&N executives are panicking over record poor sales from the past two months. Plans to expand are now on hold as the company "restrategizes."

Any thoughts?

Bigger chains than this one are folding. This one still thinks a new James Patterson ( ghost written) book is going to save a week’s sales!

Stores are EMPTY
Management doesn’t care anymore
Fewer booksellers on shifts, working harder not smarter.
Wouldn’t be surprised to show up one day to a padlocked store.

I'm not surprised they're closing down. Everything they've tried to do has been unsuccessful ever since they sold that piece of junk Nook. Now they've put up smaller stores in the worst locations, no one is going to them and they wonder why.
Bad corporate decisions, bad management, bad place to work!

You’ll be hearing about a lot more “ we lost our lease” excuses soon. You can open your eyes that their business has steadily been declining, for years. Or. Keep your head in the sand while the execs get themselves set for life while you’ll end up kicked out the door.
