People have been predicting its downfall for years. Just look at this page. I've been reading the older posts and as far as 2019 people were certain that the company would be liquidated before the end of that year. And yet, five years later, we're still here. I'm not a fan of this place, but I think people are exaggerating in their doom-and-gloom predictions.

I was in my local BN just this past Tuesday when a new book got released. They had it in stock, and even gave me a free little poster as part of a promo from the publisher. The staff was so nice, and I will keep buying books there on "release dates" because it is such a rewarding experience.
I no longer have a BN membership card, as my buying habits don't make it worthwhile. But I still support my local BN as well as a nearby used bookstore. I like to go out and physically buy my books as opposed to the soulless point-and-click.
Keep on telling me the sky is falling, and I'll just keep on taking myself to the store. 😀
