COE Pay Rises for Ops Leads

Rumours that the ops leads received a bumper pay rise to soften the blow of them dropping to 12.5% on the 4x4 day shifts they do. A 10% pay rise on top of the 3.5% that all other minions got is what they have received. And you wonder why the leads... — read more

Management losing touch with reality

I'm just wondering if my manager could do even a quarter of the work he expects me to do. Do they even realize how unrealistic their expectations are? I believe that in other companies in the industry, managers overwhelm employees, but not to... — read more

MBA Future

What's the future of MBA ? Will it remain part of the COE? Open discussion welcome.

Montrose “fire and re-hire”

Seems the workers are unhappy. https://www.energyvoice.com/oilandgas/north-sea/432028/baker-hughes-workers-in-angus-vote-to-down-tools-amid-fire-and-re-hire-claims/

Montrose

How's the union involvement going in Montrose? Any strikes yet? Unity between both sites? Consultations going well? Can't leave the company because you can't afford it due to fancy cars, big houses, expensive holidays, too many kids, needy... — read more

They never take responsibility

It is somewhat fascinating to me how leadership always manages to divert attention from its mistakes to something or someone else. For everything bad that happens someone else is to blame. Blame supply chain, blame employees... just never take... — read more

Poor management

My personal opinion is that the core of this company is rotten. Sometimes I wonder if the management even knows what they are doing?

SLB and HAL

Why is it Schlum and Hal had no problems delivering and even beating estimates this quarter but Baker yet again can’t? This happens quarter and quarter, baker just can’t hit the numbers even as our peers do.

More Pay offs coming

With the ridiculous earnings the company has achieved his quater, shares down 40% , when others are hitting record highs , already fire and rehire started in Aberdeen, pay cuts and lay offs happening for 6 years now honestly why is any one still... — read more

MCB to replace LS ?

That would be funny! Get out while you still can find a safe place to go. Hopefully the ones full of cr-p stay out of the OFS market when this ship sinks; or go work for a major where they don’t do much but drag the OFS companies down. LinkedIn... — read more

Does Lorenzo get a mid-year review?

Remember Lorenzo, keep... steering that ship but consider... avoiding icebergs such as investing gobs of capital in autocratic regimes which have disdain for territorial boundaries and property rights. keep jammin' L. !

Quality

Very important issues are swept under the carpet here. For example - quality. Declining quality is sure to have a significant negative impact on the company. However, does quality really matter here anymore? Anyone actually worried about the... — read more

Worst mistakes

I feel a little nostalgic every time I remember how this was actually a very solid workplace. There were too many bad assessments and bad leadership decisions and the company is slowly sinking. What do you think were the worst leadership decisions... — read more

Comedy of Errors

We're being lied to on an industrial scale. How very different the BH online corporate propaganda is from the reality of deliberate misinformation. Down here at the coal face you are nothing, not even worthy of being told the truth, you are... — read more

Not getting reorgs right

Too many reorgs here. I understand that they are sometimes necessary because the company tries to keep up with the pace of change. However, it is questionable whether the reorgs here are successful at all, and how much real damage do they cause... — read more

Seriously toxic company

Companies need to do things like this, no one will argue with that, but while OFE and specifically Services is so rife with bullying and so called leaders just worried about covering their own backs who in their right mind would join us... — read more

OMG, another reorg

I can't take the reorgs anymore. One guy shows up, reorgs the place. That lasts for at most 2 years. Then the manager moves on to a new job at another company and leaves a big mess in his wake. It's like living in a blender.

Fix this mess

Baker’s IT is poor. Get everyone using one system (preferably SAP). The current mishmash of systems used is inefficient. Since someone else has already mentioned this, could anyone please explain to me why we “have to” have this mishmash? Is it... — read more
