Topics regarding layoffs at T-Mobile

Can they even lay anymore off?

Can the company even afford to lay people off anymore. It seems we're consistently losing high performing employees through attrition, and we're not getting backfill for the positions. I can't imagine my department running any "leaner".

Next Round of Layoffs

Next round of layoffs need to hit the director level+ especially hard. There are still faaaaaaaarrrr too many VP, SVP, EVPs getting paid millions of dollars to fly around the country and do nothing!

IT Layoffs

In the following 4 weeks we are going to see a 37% cut of IT staffing. This is not region specific, sites seeing the cuts should expect more broad layoffs as the year progresses.

More finance layoffs with Project Elevate

DFS (dealer financial services) was cut yesterday, moving all the Bellevue team members to Overland park (like anyone would move). More and more finance positions are getting drawn into the new Magenta services center. Nobody in finance is safe... — read more

Is it just me...

Fines again?

https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/29/tech/fcc-fines-att-verizon-200-million/index.html T-Mobile fined $80M Sprint fined $12M Of course, pending appeal. Mikey needs to speak to the Biden Administration on what to do.

$950M to buy Lumos fiber

Sievert thins out or ranks by laying off thousands, then turns around and spends $950M on a futile effort and double down on his home internet play? Why are we silent about this?

CTO Promotions

I was on vacation this week and just saw John Saw’s email where CTO promoted 75 people. Are these promotions company wide? Did the see the survey results and panic? Layoffs to come to compensate?

Not a finance person

Why do we sometimes do earning before market opens or after it closes? Will the earning be impacted by all the layoffs short term, because of all the severance?

HQ is moving to OP....

...eventually...Bellevue will be downsized to a regional RBO like AT&T did with Redmond and official HQ will be Kansas. Not like tomorrow...but soon...very soon.

No layoffs today

We made it another day, NO LAYOFFS REPORTED TODAY.... Prepare to wake up tomorrow and give T-Mobile 100% effort. Thanks in advance!!

DEI and Age a Layoff Concern

Earth Day Perks...LOL!

This is how awesome T-Mobile's "Perks" are. For Earth Day, they have a drawing for an electric vehicle (perhaps the most earth unfriendly item out there) from Fisker (who is being delisted from the NYSE on 4/22/24 due to... — read more

Almost done with severance and unemployment...

Walking away from the labor force with $615K in cash for my 18 years of service. T-Mobile seems like a dream to me now after 6 months. Sad, I started with Voicestream where everybody and even the country and company seemed happy, and now its a dour... — read more

OPERATIONS

Any truth to Ericsson or 3rd party vendors taking over Dev and Fops? Lots of noise in the industry about this. Quite a few of the Field Techs are leaving the company going to Amazon, taking jobs in technology. Spill the beans if you know... — read more

10 hour outage 3/20/24

Thanks a bunch for today’s voice and data outage that left me isolated from calls and gig jobs. I’m surprised this didn’t make the news. Who else was impacted? https://downdetector.com/status/t-mobile/

As of this morning, the remaining 3 switch techs, which includes me have been laid off, SWOPS is no more. I would like to wish FOPS and the security guard good luck, please do not call me for questions.

Bye Bye Free Money

Business Updates Meeting Maker

So it begins. CEC rep here in Central Region. Received a meeting maker for 3/18 for “business updates”. Mixture of experts all the way up to TMs listed in the required field.

Dropping Like Flies

T-Mobile is purposely making dramatic structural changes with its so-called Area model to drive people to quitting so they don’t have to perform more layoffs. Great way to reduce headcount, but the good employees are the ones who are leaving! The... — read more
