Got a job offer at Qualcomm, more precisely and engineer position at San Diego. The offer exceeds my current job in the financial sense and the job certainly presents a good challenge. On the other hand I’m getting a little worried when I hear the... — read more

The next inflection point for Qualcomm
It seems like I have heard of some really key modem hardware and software people that have left in the last year (some key RF people as well). New grads will not be able to backfill the talent. So my prediction is that Qualcomm will have another... — read more

Why are people leaving?
I understand the traditional fear of the company taking a fall, but from what I’ve seen there are not many competitors on the market that give better work conditions than Q ( in terms of bay, benefits, vacation….). On the other hand, I see people... — read more
Future doesn't look bright
People are leaving Qualcomm in droves and those replacing them have no idea what they're doing. Fresh from college, no experience whatsoever and very little desire to learn. At least that has been my experience in the past year. Are those the only... — read more
Any info on potential layoffs?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m aware that the discussion of this board goes beyond the standard layoff rumors talk, but It's just that I see a lot of people posting here and not a lot of reports of actual layoffs. Is it possible that none are happening or... — read more

To what degree will the 5G sales be impacted if we lose the Apple cases?
The question keeps coming to me in my head. It is logical that if we lose our business strategy is in jeopardy. Can Qualcomm cope with that scenario? Does the leadership have a plan B is such a scenario should pan out?
If executives are abandoning ship, what can the rest of us expect?
I'm afraid that some tough times are in front of us. GD leaves Q and gets a job at a company that is realistically inferior to Q in the majority of the markets. If executives are abandoning ship the logical thing that comes to mind is that they know... — read more
Only two days at Intel George and look what happens
media reports surfaced that Intel (INTC) will not be able to supply 5G modems for Apple’s (AAPL) 2020 iPhones. Apple will not have a 5G iphone option unless it uses a Qualcomm modem. Your timing is impeccable Mr. Davis.
Hopefully this will become a trend

Qualcomm has to accept that they are not so dominant
I’m not saying that Q will stop being the market leader in the near future, but looking portion of the market gradually is an inevitability. The competitors are gaining up, many smartphone makers are deciding to go “in-house” with the production of... — read more

Any bets on when the spring-culling will begin?
Last year, affected people started being notified in April. I wonder if there will be another big round of layoffs this year. With so many good people leaving, will it be necessary? I’m hoping for some good TV.
