Bares repeating, do NOT base your self value on what company is on your paycheck.
This article is very true. The stigma always lies with those laid off and not the gross mismanagement which led to them. You really want to cut costs? Get rid of a corporate jet or two.
I was class of 2018 layoffs at QCOM. I had survived the 2015 layoffs prior. At the end, I was glad to be gone and I did land a much better position.
Before QCOM, I survived layoffs at a couple of other large companies. The outcome is always the same. The survivors end up with a lot of survivor's guilt and "management" does nothing to assist with this. Sometimes, the "You should feel lucky to just have a job" attitude they project is beyond destructive. It's no wonder that so many people voluntarily leave after a layoff. The problem with these people leaving is that it's rarely the ones you wanbt to lose.
