This last quarter was pretty bad and the next one is expected to be bad too. Come March, do y'all expect another round of layoffs?
What is my best course of action?
I just graduated with my PhD and am joining Micron in a week. I'm also international so all my immigration and life is tied to Micron. I have already taken the relocation money and used it for my expenses to move (rent deposits, lease breaks... — read more
Do you think they will fire E1-E5 indiscriminately?
Will it be focused on E1-E2 like me since we're easier to replace?
Joined less than a year ago, am I safe?
I just joined the company less than a year ago. I'm technically under the customer engineer group. What groups are usually affected by the lay offs? This is pretty disappointing, I left my previous company which never laid people off and had good... — read more
This shouldn't be a surprise for anyone!
I warned everybody this would happen over a year ago in my reply to the Steve Appleton comment. I said as soon as there is a losing quarter, Sanjay will panic and start firing people. I can't believe the two answers I got that "the company is... — read more
If you are in a project that might be non-critical start looking for a new job
Yup if your project isn't related to new memory technology that is gonna get Micron money in the next 2-3 years you better start looking for jobs cause that's where 5% of the cuts are gonna come from. 5% will be through people retiring and finding... — read more
Do we know who's getting cut?
Probably a lot of equipment engineers? Should we expect process engineers, managers, etc... to get cut too?
Is Micron also laying off New Grads?
I'm literally joining in 3 weeks and moving next week to start the job.
What’s is Micron Layoff compensation package?
10% employees will be laid off soon. Does anybody know what’s the compensation package does Micron offer? Thanks!
New joining
I was thinking to join micron and just saw layoffs + bonus suspensions. What percent of base salary they give bonus or other amount?
It was just a matter of time
Considering that all tech companies are laying off people, it was only a matter of time before Micron followed suit. Nearly 5k people are about to lose their jobs and since there's no date set, it means all of us will spend most likely months... — read more
Micron Technology Layoffs 2023
Post any information about potential or actual Micron Technology layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?
Hit the glass ceiling
I quit Micron not so long ago, and I think I made the right rational decision. Did not get any raise even though it was due for the last years. As the result I got a competitive external offer that Micron was not able to. Overall it is a good... — read more
How are things going?
I quit Micron about 8 months ago to pursue better opportunities. I am wondering if I made the right choice though. I wanted to stay until I received the end of year bonus or at least see how good the pay raises would be but I couldn't make it that... — read more
Are we still in the "no cuts" phase?
Have there been any changes on that front?
Micron Is Slowing Hiring But Plans to Steer Clear of Job Cuts

Layoffs will be bad
Look around at other companies in our industry. Many of them are doing much better than we are and they're laying people off in droves. It's only a matter of time before it's our turn and when it gets here, it's going to be a bloodbath. I'm betting... — read more

Micron Singapore Main Thread
I just wanted to start a thread for Micron Singapore here.
This is not good!
This is the beginning of something really bad! Have you seen the stock price? Sanjay is losing MILLIONS! I have a solution though. If we all ban together and put at least 10% of our paychecks into a secure account, we can donate it to Sanjay to... — read more
Leadership doesn't respect employees
They treat us like we don't matter. We're the ones who do all the work but we are still seen as a cost and not an asset. They've been alienating a lot of us this way, and I wouldn't be surprised if there is a mass exodus at some point. All we ask is... — read more
There a lot of layoffs in tech right now
Many unicorns are in the process of laying off staff as are some of the smaller but promising startups. Major players such as Apple and Google have frozen hiring. This doesn't look good for us. In case we also hit the stage where major layoffs... — read more

Micron is not the same company it once was
This is my last week here and I have to say, I feel sorry for all of you who're staying. This is not the same company it once was and working here has become an awful experience in which you have to navigate company politics, nepotism, and two-faced... — read more
Diversity
It is funny to see Sumit and Sanjay and their cronies promoting themselves as champions of diversity, equal pay etc. Talk is cheap. It is self promotional. They do not respect women or pay equality. Quite the opposite. They promoted unfair practices... — read more
How's micron for early career PhD growth?

Will there be cuts?

Found a new job and it wasn't that difficult

Vaccine Layoff
In an effort to save face. Micron announced today that as of November 15, all unvaccinated US employees will be terminated. I anticipate a 5-10 reduction because of this requirement.
