Thread regarding Micron Technology Inc. layoffs

Joined less than a year ago, am I safe?

I just joined the company less than a year ago. I'm technically under the customer engineer group. What groups are usually affected by the lay offs?

This is pretty disappointing, I left my previous company which never laid people off and had good job security. Now I'm here, seems like things are constantly sinking.

My opinion is that you are probably one of the safest groups. It does not look good for the company to let go of people who have just started.

No one can say. If it's less than a year then you most likely will be fine cause firing new hires is a bad look for the company.

That being said if you're not working on a critical technology, in talent acquisition, in low performing technology you might be at high risk.
