This is a fair question and you should be asking your manager in your upcoming 1:1. Ask them to provide you with clarity.
Lastly, make sure you have regular 1:1s in 2023 so that you can test the water frequently!
No. New grads/hires are most likely very safe. Don't worry about it and don't listen to toxic people around here.
