The vast majority of those that took the VSP will be let go on 12/28. Anyone kept till March or June will be PE's or PMOs that have to fill a certain commitment to a particular contract or customer. Verizon does not care if the ones left behind are pulling double or triple duty, their goal is to get as much money off the books as quickly as possible. That means very few will be retained past 12/28.

AT&T is far superior to Verizon and has a near monopoly on telecom and entertainment now.

AT&T is going to mom the floor with Verizon, T-mobile, Sprint, Charter, Spectrum and DISH.

AT&T is the undeniable leader. Period.

While I know that was clearly not a real response from ESL, let me be clear I am far from a disgruntled former employee. I left on completely good terms. I'd also like to get my pension. Second, it's laughable to suggest that I almost single-handedly drove the company into bankruptcy. The main reason is I did not have enough power or authority to do that. I was a staff guy, not the CEO or on the Board or even running the mall stores. Also, the company was clearly not on the road to bankruptcy in 2003. In fact many metrics were turning positive. #FakeNews

it didnt go up it went down, #fakenews, the only thing the new structure does is expose clerks, if you relied on just renewals for sales dollars previously they your not gonna succeed in this structure , this structure values those that sell things not clerk out upgrades from what i can tell

What was the result of the "emergency board meeting?" Doubtful they come clean. The truth is untenable and they will hope the full details of what this money was for and how it was used don't come to light. If they ignore it and try to let it blow over then maybe they can get their beloved TW deal done. Let's hope NY Times or WaPO journalists don't dig too deep and find insiders willing to spill the beans.

let me make this easy for everyone - i am categorizing this post as

#FakeNews

anyhow, look for posts that have substantial information

i've been on thelayoff dot com since 2015 and that's the only way that works here - there is a ton of fud and a ton of trolling happening

HOWEVER, if the info is substantial and written in a language that you or i (as qc employees) can understand, there is some possibility you've found a gem that contains usable info

other than this, it's all entertainment, fantasy and emotional exercises
