Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon Customer But Not For Long.....

I read about the mass layoffs at Verizon and the move of jobs to another country.

Unacceptable.

I pay a ton for Verizon service and would pay more if needed to keep the jobs here. I know what many of you are thinking.... but I am here in this country as a result of my parents coming to the US to pursue the American dream.

I consider myself very open minded, however, exploiting people in a foreign country for cheap pay and taking these jobs opportunities from the US is not right... maybe Verizon should fill the CEO and other VPO type positions from a foreign country. Your company would surely save money then.

You know that Verizon commercial where he drops the mic? I say #DropVerizon

Anyone that says they would pay more to keep jobs here is full of it!! People want everything cheap cheap cheap until it doesn't work as advertised...

So if I have that 24 month credit on device payment plan, I am stuck until those months pass right? This is for wireless plans

Customers actually do care because it effects them too. When they call for CS they want American based customer service. There bills are not gonna get cheaper, so they care. Too many jobs being outsourced effects everyone not just Verizon Employees so believe me customers will care.

Completely agree and did the same thing the 1st week after I was RIF'd.

I was RIF'd after 20+ years of service and always performing or leading performance reviews. When I was asked WHY I was RIF'd, only answer both my Director and HR could tell was that it was NOT based on performance, but rather a "complex, multi-factor formula".....honest to God, that was all they would tell me!

Very first week out I cancelled my personal cell service and all of my family wireless service and switched it to AT&T. Next I cancelled my FiOS internet service and moved it to Charter. Verizon treats their employees like dirt and do not deserve our business. I've encouraged my rather large and extended family to do the same, and many have followed suit, and said AT&T is much cheaper and just as good, if not better, network reliability.

@iba, stop pretending to be a customer.

Customers don’t go on layoff websites to see how their service provider treats employees. Customers just care about price and a little about service .

I'm also a Verizon Wireless customer, and am going to change carriers if Verizon is outsourcing IT support to Infosys.
