This is what was relayed to me from a very reliable source. I dont know how that other poster called it days ago because the decision had not yet been made. My source told me that reps would be cross trained on SMB in order to cut cost when the SMB reps were eliminated.

Yup! The SMB team is lazy and says they close deals but it’s the reps doing all the work. Verizon is compensating them for literally not doing anything. I was offered an SMB position but declined because it’s the support team that gets laid off first. (Remember CSRs) ...
President Trump gave 20 % tax cut to keep the jobs. Company is taking money and trying to layoff people. Double dip to economy.
Yes VZW is known for BAU, but SMB is holding up retail. No way they cut the whole unit.
Verizon is known for BAU, hiring right up until they close down a center, position etc...they did in multiple call centers and within a month announced the center was closing. So it's not unheard of for them to post reqs and then suddenly decide they are eliminating the position.
Also, there are 9 open reqs for SMB positions company wide including smb reps, managers and associate director. Seems odd they would have these open and trying to fill if they were eliminating. Seems like your claim is a pile of garbage.
Retail is being choked out entirely. One hand doesn’t know what the other is doing. So what if someone got promoted? They can get Rifd their fist day.
I doubt that highly, a rep in our zone was the promoted to R2B for a different market starting in a few weeks. #FAKEnews
Definitely makes sense. The Whole Karate SMB training Solutions Specialists did a few weeks back was indicative of this cut. Our SMB rep is a total waste....VZ knows this & it’s time to TRIM. Solution Specialists are up next though...
they are lazy and useless but i doubt theyre going anywhere.
this is exactly the reason i never took that SMB position its going to be the first place they look when its time for cuts.
makes sense because our SMB rep literally does nothing. We find and close most of our deals without her.
